COVID-19 and Your Rogue Fest

Well, here it is. Although incredibly disappointing, we’re sure this isn’t going to come as a great surprise. 

It is with heavy hearts that, due to the progression of COVID-19, we announce the 5th Annual Rogue Arts Festival will not take place in 2020.

This difficult decision was made with the health and safety of our festival family and extended community in mind, as this is our top priority. We very much appreciate the patience that has been shown to us while we have been gathering information and paying close attention to the projected effects of the pandemic.

“This was probably the hardest decision I’ve ever been a part of,” said Arwen MacDonald, Rogue Fest Artistic and Administrative Director. “The amount of heart and dedication that goes into making Rogue Fest happen is enormous. There will be a lot of people affected by this. That being said, we are determined to find alternatives to keep the organization afloat until we can Rogue it up together again. The dream is not dead.”

Questions… so many questions!

Can’t you just postpone the event?

Unfortunately, no.

Creating an event like Rogue Fest takes months of planning, fundraising, and recruiting; all of which have been put to a halt since the beginning of March. Even if the pandemic were to be completely eradicated tomorrow, Rogue Fest would not have the financial structure in place to proceed.

How will this impact the Festival?

Well, we honestly don’t really yet know yet. As a community built and building festival, we rely on our festival family to help move us forward each year and there is a lot of uncertainty for many people right now. Festivals across the country have been vastly impacted and some, most likely, won’t recover.

That being said, Rogue Fest is dedicated to continue celebrating the arts and its community and we are optimistic that we will find solutions that will see us Rogue-ing together again.

I bought a ticket. What are my options?

Ticket holders will be contacted directly regarding options. The Rogue Arts Festival will be offering refunds, credits to future events, and the opportunity to continue to support the festival by donating the price of your ticket.

What about the Rogue Fest community?

Our community is why we do what we do – we love you guys! Rogue Fest is committed to looking at options to help keep us viable until we can safely celebrate together again.
