Graeme Bousada stands alone both in his method and his sound.

A one-man show, he performs live electronic music with a loop pedal and mic, playing, singing and MCing everything live with MIDI keyboards, samplers and a drum pad. Using catchy melodies, soothing soundscapes and driving bass to set the scene for his sultry and infectious voice, BOUSADA delivers an engaging, energetic and incredibly original live performance that perfectly walks the line between a live band and a DJ.

Although he may be a new face on the west coast music scene, he is not new to music itself. He first started playing and producing music at the age of 12 but sidelined his passion to finish school and pursue other interests. He first recognized his calling as a musician a decade later while farming on a remote commune in northern BC. A few months later he moved to Victoria to launch his music career.

BOUSADA’s first public appearance was a sold out show at the Anian Yard in Victoria, with over 200 people in attendance. A year later and he has now headlined a string of sold out shows and played a series of notable opening slots and festivals. This past summer, he was featured at Shambhala Music Festival. As BOUSADA’s sound develops, there is no telling how big he will get. With his debut EP and cross-Canada tour slated for the new year, he’s promised to be one of western Canada’s most exciting breakout artists of 2018.

Staggers & Jaggs

Extra strength, original recipe ear wax.

The Staggers & Jaggs have been mending holes in souls, amplifying auras and crossing eyes for over three years now. From the corners of East Vancouver, this band draws influence from prohibition era parties, blues, jazz, punk rock & more. Tales of love, loss and madness are told through playful melodies and hypnotic rhythms.
The band’s core lineup includes Conrad Shynkar on guitar & vocals, Sabrina Robson on vocals & harmonica, Blake MacKay on keys & strange sound effects and Shannon Marie on upright bass. They are often accompanied by other curious characters on viola, mandolin and drums.
This troupe has toured throughout Western Canada, with plans to venture further this summer. Hot on the heels of their first self-titled full length album, the band is cooking up a new release for spring 2018. Listeners can expect more of Staggers’ strangely wonderful brand of freak folk and psychedelic gypsy swing - sure to drown the stubbornest of sorrows and liberate your dancing feet.

Texture & Light

Striking a balance between the dance floor and headphone day dreaming.

Texture & Light was formed by DJ Trevor Refix as a way to explore live instrumentation, synthesis, field recordings, and deep themes. Trevor allows his music to lead him where it may, not putting much thought into staying inside a certain genre or following a certain formula. This is simply the music that Trevor was born to make, and it continues to evolve over space and time as he is carved by experience, joy, sadness, and wonder.

Trevor’s newest EP, Eat Magic, was inspired by ambient techno, nature, inner space, and the idea of authenticity. His current productions and live shows are built around the idea of bringing listeners on a fuzzy, deep, slow motion journey that takes place on a dance floor beneath the stars, but leads you deep within yourself.

The Marwills

Groovy bass and big drums anchor an explosive frontman and fiery guitars..

The Marwills are a thick, juicy cut of Rock stuffed with the Blues and covered in Grade A Canadian dirt. They make music with serious guts and they sweat while they do it.  Their sound conjures smoky blues bars, shady drinking establishments, and the golden age of rock and roll.

Although their debut album, “Marwill St.”, was released in 2012, most of the members have been playing together in some form or another for almost a decade. Starting out in small-town BC then playing in Alberta for a number of years, The Marwills continued east to the big smoke of Toronto, where they’ve established themselves as a rocking tour de force to be reckoned with.

The Marwills’ latest album, “Facts & Figures” (2014) is a raw rock album full of bluesy riffs, crunchy guitars, and lustful lyrics, rounded out along the edges with backing vocals, slide guitar, keys, sax, a female choir, fiddle, and acoustic guitar for a touch of mature nuance.

The Marwills have recently finished recording their 3rd full-length album, set to be released just in time for the 2018 summer festival season!

The Collective Sets are about engagement, breaking that wall between audience and artists, collective experiences, and, of course, having fun! We're stoked to see what our 2018 musicians come up with for this year!
