Artist – Gail Newman
Arts and Crafts have been a passion in my life. Recycling was always a top priority but more importantly to reduce, reuse, recycle. I’ve made buttons and earrings out of old gumboots. My last collaborative large public sculpture, with Artist Peter Roy, was in 2006. A 52ft long Salmon sculpture named “Pacifish”.The structure was made from local bamboo and covered in old Christmas lights and recycled fabric.
Gumboot Creations will light up the night at the Rogue Fest once again. Keeping with my philosophy of recycling I will be reusing some of last year’s installation in this year’s. Come and check out “Great Balls of Light”!
